The pretend war of Hamas VS. Fatah

The American Administration and the so-called “Quartet:” the U.S. State Department, European Union, United Nations and Russia, have evolved plans to temporarily divide the Muslim Arab Palestinian Government which consisted of Hamas and Fatah. It works like this: with Fatah (called ‘moderate’ by President Bush), America and the donor countries can now freely pour their tax-payers’ money and weapons into the hands of Mahmoud Abbas (aka Abu Mazen).

Hamas was paid off by allowing them to seize $400 million dollars in U.S. armaments with no resistance by Fatah on orders by Abbas. After Fatah receives sufficient money and arms from the U.S. and E.U. donor nations, there will be re-unification. Presumably, Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia will act as the “peace brokers.” That means taking “piece(s)” out of Israel and giving them to Muslim Arabs. This will be a sting operation of the highest order and, of course, Israel will be the mark (the sucker).

Suddenly, Fatah and Hamas will be “re-united,” with both then receiving donor monies and both will then have a sizable arms flow from America, the Quartet, Egyptian, Syrian and Iranian sources. What will this well-planned farce accomplish?

With Fatah and Hamas re-united, they will call for another Palestinian State, consisting of both Gaza with the 7 cities in Judea and Samaria, control of which was given over to Yassir Arafat when he was head of the Palestinian Authority. Then Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres, with Yossi Beilin, negotiated the secret (and treasonable) Oslo Accords. (Treasonable because when Peres and Beilin were negotiating away Israel’s assets to Arafat at Oslo, it was illegal for Israelis to meet with the PLO or Arafat.)

Naturally, the arrangers (the U.S., E.U., U.N. and Russia) will push for the two-state plan. Condoleezza Rice has previously demanded that Israel open up a land corridor between Gaza and the 7 cities Rabin and Peres turned over to Yassir Arafat and the PLO. Now Fatah (Mahmoud Abbas) and Hamas will have the weapons and money given to the Palestinian Authority who spreads it around to all the terrorist groups.

Perhaps to further the illusion, they will find a new name, as if they were unified and a “proper” State in formation. What will follow are missile attacks on Israel’s densely populated coastal region. There will be no help from the planners other than to press Israel for more concessions. Israel will either be eliminated with the planning of the Bush

Administrations or forced into a “one-State” solution with the influx of 3-5 million Arab Muslim Palestinian relatives.

If it doesn’t work out, the planners will treat it all as a minor mistake as they did when the Western Allies (courtesy of Chamberlain) surrendered the Sudetenland of Czechoslovakia to Adolph Hitler. Eliminating the Jewish State has been in State Department planning from the first day Israel declared herself a State, May 14, 1948.

Why did the government of Fatah – led by Abbas – collapse so quickly in Gaza? They had more men and were highly trained, well-armed, ruthless killers. These were not some amateur troops in the barracks who were “over-run” by motivated Hamas terrorists. They were both cut from the same cloth, the same families. They knew how to fight – but they didn’t.

The answer is that they were betrayed by their leadership, who fled safely to Judea and Samaria within the relative safety of Israel.  Fatah took delivery of $60 million of American taxpayers dollars’ worth of arms provided by the Americans – ostensibly to fight Hamas, although Fatah no longer served any real purpose. They just got in the way of Syrian-backed, Iranian-controlled Hamas. To get the coveted U.S. arms, they bided their time with skirmishes – which was to show how badly Fatah needed the arms. Then Fatah “fled” from the Inferior force. Actually, Hamas and Fatah always had the same goals – mainly, to attack and occupy all of Israel. Fatah was just weighed down with having to “look moderate” for the Americans and Europeans so the cash would flow but both were committed to the Palestinian Charter: to wipe Israel off the map. Fatah and Hamas are brothers-under-the-skin and often members of the same family.

Now the same scenario is slated to repeat itself in Judea and Samaria. The oh-so “moderate” Fatah terrorists (known for using children as human shields) will now get the sympathy and arms to help them pretend to “fight” Hamas. They will get much more arms and money than they ever dreamed as everyone is now scared of Hamas taking over. The Fatah will then crumple after the arms and cash have been delivered, with the Fatah “leadership” “fleeing” to various luxury enclaves throughout the world. Hamas and the remains of Fatah will merge into one Islamic unit, with pledges to “jihad” (Islamic war against infidels – non-Muslims).

Why did Hamas act now? They were told by Iran to prepare to attack Israel; pretenses of moderation get in the way of that. President Bush will probably be “allowed” by the pro-Arab State Department to hit Iran with an inadequate sub-lethal blow, just enough to get Iran “angry” at the U.S. (as if they weren’t already dedicated to destroying the U.S. which they called “The Great Satan”), and just enough to give the Iranians an excuse to launch missiles at Israel. Of course, the Hezb’Allah (Hezbollah) in Lebanon and the Hamas in Gaza will gleefully seek to join them.

If Americans want to live in peace and ensure a peaceful world, they will probably need to extensively neutron bomb Iran and carpet bomb Gaza and Lebanon. Anything less is just asking for them to attack American cities as they develop advanced nuclear weapons’ technology, as Gaza and Lebanon continue to grow into terrorist centers far more dangerous than anything the Al Qaeda ever had.

If America is not tough now, we will all pay the price in the near future.

How will Israel fare in all this? Well, they do have a rather long history of miracles.  I suppose you would need to check attendance at Jewish houses of prayer to know the answer to that one. As for Israel’s weak leadership, it far surpasses Neville Chamberlain’s delusions as Ehud Olmert, Shimon Peres, Tzipi Livni and Ehud Barak clearly intend to be the pall-bearers of the Jewish nation.

In the interim, all stops have been pulled out to portray Mahmoud Abbas (aka Abu Mazen) and Fatah as “moderate” and not at all like Hamas. The facts will be brushed aside and the various terrorist groups that make up Fatah will be listed as “moderates”. The “moderate” cover-up will fade as they re-start their suicide bombings, car bombs, and firing Katyusha Rockets at Tel Aviv. Naturally, the Leftist Israeli apologists will jump in, demanding more concessions in order to stop or moderate the attacks. I suppose if enough Israelis are killed, the people may start hunting the Leftists from the top down although, given their penchant for leaving crooks and traitors in office, one cannot count on the Jews acting in real time.

By that time, Judea and Samaria, the Jordan Valley, the Golan Heights and all of Jerusalem that Jordan controlled and desecrated for 19 years will have been transferred over to Muslim control IF President Bush and the Saudis have their way. The champagne corks will be popping at the Bush Compound in Kennebunkport and the U.N. in New York.  They will enjoy seeing the nation of Israel savaged by the Arab Muslims. But, their glee will not last long as the Muslims increase blowing up England, France and the U.S. cities wherein their various “peaceful” sleeper cell-civilians have reached “critical mass” and turn against their generous host countries. All will bleat, “But, we destroyed Israel for your benefit so why don’t you stop attacking us?”

Over the years I have bothered G-d nightly to make good on His Promise to “Bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse His people.” I impudently made specific suggestions of how to curse and who should benefit from His Anger. I respectfully requested burning sun in the summer and deep freezing in the winter. I asked for massive flooding so crops would not grow. I cited all of Europe and Russia as a vast graveyard and now it was time to destroy the nations from the North who persecuted the Jews. Germany, France, Poland, Russia, Great Britain, and all who assisted the killings. I prayed for massive earthquakes to flatten the cities of Mecca, Medina, Teheran, Damascus, Cairo, ‘et al’. I importuned HaShem to bring back His ancient plagues to punish those nations and all the people who hunted the Jews.

Do you see any of those catastrophes happening in these times?

Frankly, I did not have America in mind but, given the Bush partnership with the Arabs, I fear the heat and the floods in America may be the Bush legacy for what he is planning (or allowing others to plan) for the Jewish nation.

About the Author

Manny Winston, my late husband, flew from Chicago to Israel to volunteer during the Yom Kippur War in 1973. He arrived with US secretary of state Henry Kissinger’s first ceasefire on October 21; I followed on October 30th.

Manny was picking grapefruit at Kibbutz Dalia when his friend, the artists, Sol Baskin called with a permit to enter the war zone. They drove to meet Gen. Ariel “Arik” Sharon at the Suez Canal. “Shalom” Baskin was part of the Mahal volunteers from America to the IDF, and a commissioned officer in Mahal. He was Arik’s commanding officer during the 1948 War of Independence, and they remained friends.

Manny brought his two Leica cameras and photographed an outstanding photo exposé on October 29 and 30. He saw and smelled the “killing fields” He met with Sharon, the young soldiers who had survived the destroyed tanks and he saw how the blown tank turret, flipped upside down destroyed the lives of those brave souls inside.

Manny did see these effects and, because he was a true Renaissance man, a graphic thinker who was a painter, sculptor and political analyst, he envisioned a solution to the weak point of the tank. He described a technique to conquer that weakness to Sharon, who sent him to Maj.-Gen. Israel Tal, the developer of the famed Merkava tank.

Manny’s “leap of imagination” created what became “Blazer” or “Reactive” Armor. He designed rectangles of hollow metal boxes with an explosive charge inside. These ‘so-called’ “skirts” were placed around the neck of the tank turret so that when hit, the explosive charge therein would push the incoming ballistic missile out, thereby saving the tank and its crew. This was compatible with the primary goal of Gen. Tal’s Merkava tanks: Defense of the Tank Crew.

That, along with speed, maneuverability, effective shooting and protection against damaging desert sand, were what made the Merkava “The Tank a Jewish Mother Would Love,” as Manny called it.

He also designed a better bridge for crossing the Canal – easier to carry and assemble, and less susceptible to the huge holes the tanks had already created on the day’s existing bridge.

Manny continued to submit creative concepts for defense and offense to Israel’s military industries – for which he received his Israeli citizenship and security clearance. Many of his concepts and ideas were adopted throughout the years. He never asked for credit or remuneration but even today, I see his concepts being used, either in action or in military articles. Someday I hope to publish the “WINSTON DEFENSE DESIGNS,” either online or in a book – a very big book, with his original drawings.

The Yom Kippur War was a seminal turning point in Israel’s history. We did win. It was a miracle, given the forces mounted against us, in number and backed up the Soviet Union.

We have 40 mounted color photographs by Emanuel A. Winston, ready to show at a traveling or permanent exhibition, which will enhance our appreciation of what our men and generals went through and achieved.

The Yom Kippur War was also a seminal turning point in the lives of the Winston family. It was our second trip to Israel. We had tried to make Aliyah in 1962 but didn’t succeed. I made Aliyah on November 7, 1979. Manny died on June 12, 2012, and is now buried on the Mount of Olives.

I sold the home he built in Highland Park, Illinois, in August 2012, and brought his manuscripts and published papers, to the home I built in Israel in 1992. Two of our sons and their families also live in the Jewish state.

My heartfelt message for you, the reader, is to invite all my friends, family and Internet friends to come to Israel. This is where a Jew can be truly Jewish.
